sugar cookies with almond glaze {Christmas cookies!}

There are two kinds of sugar cookies in this world: the first kind is soft and cakey and usually accompanied by fluffy pink frosting. These are sugar cookies that are a little chewier, a little denser, with a little more butter and sugar and a little less flour. Top these cookies with a sweet almond flavored glaze and you have what I consider the quintessential Christmas cookie. A Santa’s-coming-to-my-house first kind of cookie.
